So, the dealer who orders the fancy Camaros, Silverados, and Colorados, has one going back today. It’s an ‘18 RS with the 3.6/auto. I like it. I’d like it better if it had two fewer gears and two more cylinders, but I still like it.

That’s black, with silver stitch to match the stitch that came in the car, Dimensions Blue inserts, and Ocean Blue accents. If you wanted to do this in a Camaro just like this, you’d pay $1149 + tax here at the shop where I work.

I am curious, are they doing this to brand new cars? Does it affect the warranty? Nice work by the way.

Car is brand new - had 41 miles on it when it left our shop. Dealers will dress up some of these when they sit a while, or pad their profits a bit.

Are these all RS autos?

Do you think your material is nicer and longer lasting than the OEM material?

My boss has the car you wish this was. That blue, 2SS, 6-speed. He and I were in Las Vegas a few months ago, and he wanted to rent a fun car since he sold his Evo several years ago and has had withdrawals. Hertz had an SS automatic convertible, so he got it for a week and had a total blast. 3 weeks after coming home, he bought that nice blue SS.

Yup. All RS/Auto. The volume seller, for sure.

As far as nicer/longer-lasting than OEM it depends on manufacturer. Honda/Toyota leather is awfully thin for brands who build their reputation on quality. Ford leather isn’t great, GM is pretty good. Most durable interior material I’ve seen is German vinyl. “Nicest” is likely the Range Rover Sport I drove a few months ago. It was at once both super-soft like Toyota’s Softex vinyl, but had the heft of genuine hide.

Wouldn’t it have the horrible front end if it had two more cylinders?
